You talk to an independent concrete provider in our network, not to Bearingappointed Concrete staff on a job site. Each provider runs their own business, sets their own prices and does their own work. We simply make the introduction.

What happens on the first conversation

Expect a few plain questions. What are you building? About how big is it? What is the ground like now? Do you want a broom finish, a smooth finish or a stamped pattern? The provider may ask for photos or set up a visit to measure. After that, you should get a written quote.

What to ask an independent provider

A myth says the quote with the smallest number is the smartest pick. The fact is that two quotes can look alike and still cover very different work. Ask each provider:

• What is the plan for the base, and how thick will the slab be?
• Will it have steel or fiber reinforcement, and where will the joints go?
• How will water drain away from the slab and from your home?
• What finish and sealer do you use, and how do I care for them?
• Do you hold the license or registration local rules require?
• What does the written quote include, and what could change the price?
• When is a realistic start, and what could delay it?
